Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
This site is a personal professional portfolio. It is deliberately built to collect as little as possible: it sets no cookies, runs no advertising, and does not track you across other websites.
It is operated from Greece and is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Greek Law 4624/2019, which implements it nationally, and Greek Law 3471/2006 on privacy in electronic communications, which is the law that would require a consent banner if this site used non-essential cookies. It does not, so there is none.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Agisilaos Giannopoulos, Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece. You can reach me through the contact form or on LinkedIn.
What the contact form collects
If you choose to send a message, the form collects the name, email address, subject and message you type into it. Nothing else is requested and no field is pre-filled from anywhere.
- Why: solely to read your message and reply to it.
- Lawful basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in answering professional correspondence addressed to me. Where your message concerns engaging my services, Article 6(1)(b) also applies, as steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- How long: submissions are kept for as long as the correspondence is useful and deleted when it is not, and in any case no longer than 24 months.
Please do not send patient information, clinical details or any other special category health data through this form. It is not a secure clinical channel.
Who processes it
The site is hosted by Netlify, which also receives and stores contact form submissions on my behalf as a processor. Netlify operates internationally; transfers outside the EEA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. See the Netlify privacy policy.
Like any web server, Netlify records technical request logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and to keep the site running. I do not use these logs to build a profile of you.
Fonts and third-party content
Typefaces are served from this domain rather than from a font CDN, so loading a page does not disclose your IP address to a third party for that purpose.
Some links point to external sites, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. Nothing from those services is embedded here, so they receive no data until you actively click through, at which point their own privacy policies apply.
Analytics
Visitor statistics are measured with a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service. It records aggregate information such as page views, referring site and approximate country. It does not set cookies, does not store an identifier on your device, and does not follow you to other websites, so no consent banner is required and no individual visitor can be singled out.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, correction of it, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these, contact me using the details above; I will respond within one month.
If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), dpa.gr.
Children
This site is aimed at healthcare professionals, academic collaborators and organisations. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
This site is a professional portfolio, not an emergency service and not a source of medical advice. In a medical emergency in Greece, call 166 (ΕΚΑΒ) or 112.
